Emergency department
Our emergency department in Sigtuna is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
In the event of an emergency, you as a horse owner or referring veterinarian can call us on our emergency number. This will allow us to best prepare for the emergency care prior to the visit.
Our veterinarians treat various emergency conditions such as wounds, colic and acute lameness. We also have access to four isolation boxes where we can receive cases where an infectious disease cannot be ruled out.
What happens in emergency care?
You and your horse are received by a veterinarian and veterinary nurse/assistant. After an initial examination, a further plan is decided. If necessary, emergency surgical procedures are performed standing or under general anaesthesia. Our in-patient care department then offers monitoring and continuing care so that you can safely leave your horse with us if necessary.
